TMG Launches Digital Utility Transformation & Innovation Collaborative for Utilities

Austin, TX – TMG announced today the launch of its Digital Utility Transformation & Innovation Collaborative – a consortium of utilities and digital solutions providers from across the world who are focused on accelerating digital innovation throughout the utility value chain. The Digital Utility Collaborative will provide its members access to cutting edge research on leading technologies and solutions that are shaping the landscape of utility digital innovation, and access to new virtual venues for interaction and sharing of implementation experiences and best practices.

The Digital Utility Collaborative will build on TMG’s long history and track record as the premier advisor to Utility IT deployments across the Utility Value Chain. TMG’s customer-centric approach to technology planning, procurement, and implementation has been relied upon by dozens of Utilities to help optimize large scale technology deployments, de-risk investments, and position their technology deployments for success in tomorrow’s dynamic utility environment.

“Today’s Utility executives face an unprecedented challenge when implementing new digital technologies and solutions,” said Bob Champagne, Vice President of Digital Innovation and Research for TMG. “Assembling the right mix of solutions for tomorrow’s market environment is an uphill battle for many Utilities amidst a seemingly infinite number of technologies competing for a place in their digital ecosystems. Our goal with the Digital Utility Collaborative is to help members simplify this challenge through a structured process of discovery and innovation that aligns solutions with the operating models likely to emerge in the future.”

As part of its Digital Utility Collaborative, TMG will also be launching a series of webcasts keying on a central theme of  “Bringing the Digital Utility to Life.” The digital series will explore strategic topics central to many Utilities’ digital roadmaps, along with solution and vendor spotlights highlighting recent innovations and practical examples from recent project successes. Featured in the series will be topics such as democratizing customer data and insights, advanced analytics, enabling AI (artificial intelligence), personalization platforms and innovations in billing and rates. TMG will also be hosting its annual Forum in October of 2020 as a virtual 2-day event, in lieu of on-site, which will resume in October, 2021.

The new Digital Utility Collaborative will be led by a team of experts bringing decades of experience in digital innovation, research and benchmarking across all facets of operations including Customer Operations, Marketing, Energy Efficiency, Infrastructure and Asset Management, Field Services, Metering and Back Office Operations.

General Membership in the Digital Utility Collaborative will be provided free of charge to Utility organizations. Research and support for the collaborative will be funded through contributions and sponsorships from solutions partners who will receive attribution in the collaborative’s branding as well as access to TMG’s consultants for customized advisory services.
